Individual Therapy

When you have therapy with me, what is central is that you feel seen and listened to, and that you experience our contact as pleasant and secure. This is how we begin, and we will look at your situation together and at what has brought you to therapy. I am specialized in using your resources as the axis around which your therapy revolves. NARM therapy

When you decide to come for therapy together in your relationship, my first step is to recreate good contact between you, to re-establsh communication based on understanding each other. In this way we create space to see and hear each other’s needs in a respectful way.

Groups Therapy

I put together groups centered on various themes, which I have experience and knowledge of, whenever there is a group that wishes to get together on a specific theme which they can mirror themselves in. View Details

Charlotte Ross Duncan – psychologist with practice in Kolding

I am a licensed psychologist with an external number in Kolding and have many years of experience with therapy for adults. My therapeutic work is based on deep respect for the individual’s life story and strengths – and on a professional foundation in both physical, relational and cognitive methods.

When you go to therapy with me
With me you are greeted with calm, presence and professional approach. I offer a safe and respectful space where you can explore and work with what occupies you – regardless of whether it is trauma, grief, stress, anxiety, life transitions or relational challenges.

I have a Danish “ydenummer” and accept clients with referrals from their own doctor as well as private clients, as well as all insurance schemes

My approach
I work trauma-sensitively and holistically, with a special focus on how body, mind and relationships interact. Among other things, I draw on:

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) – a body-oriented approach to processing shock and trauma

NARM® (NeuroAffective Relational Model) – a method for working with developmental trauma and identity

Cognitive therapy from Oxford University Online – focusing on thought and behavior patterns

Grief Counseling Training – which strengthens my work with loss, grief and life crises

Experience with veterans
A special part of my work is working with veterans and their relatives. I have extensive experience with issues such as PTSD, moral stress, and the transition to civilian life.

Perhaps you have been having a difficult time for a while and have considered whether you should go to therapy and see a psychologist and it may have taken time to reach your decision. There can be many reasons to go to therapy, and most people experience difficult periods in their lives at some point. Everyone can reach a point where it is no longer constructive to go it alone with the challenges, and this may be worth thinking about if you criticize yourself for needing help.

Perhaps you experience low self-esteem, a feeling of wrongness or inner turmoil but regardless of your reason for coming to therapy, I offer you warm, supportive and respectful help to get back to yourself. It is my intention and my starting point that you access your unique resources and your power of action, so that you experience a solid foundation to stand on.

From the beginning, when you come to therapy with me, I emphasize creating good contact, so that you feel understood, seen, heard as yourself, and that a safe and trusting atmosphere is created around you. A therapy session is in many ways a journey back to your authentic self, and I work based on what works for you, with your needs, your background, and your readiness.

Together we can work to find out what is standing in the way of you feeling better. In this work, the special focus of therapy is that you also experience your resources and come into contact with what works well because it strengthens and calms you. This is related to the fact that the resourceful side of the nervous system is associated with inner balance and self-regulation, and provides increased flexibility to meet and accommodate challenges. It gives an experience of being in control and being able to master your situation.

I am bound by confidentiality, and am a member of the Danish Psychological Association and follow the Danish Psychological Association’s Nordic ethical rules for psychologists.

I receive ongoing supervision.
